We start on the Haunt during the 2nd week in October. We transform my mother's beautiful country home into an eerie haunted house, with red glowing walls, flashing lights, rolling fog, and creepy sounds. We use the front yard, porch, and several other buildings on the property to complete our haunt. We have the front of the house and the porch done around the 15th, complete with sound effects and a few props. This allows us to have a little fun with people who come by before Halloween.
Because our entire haunt is made up of volunteers, we are only open on Halloween. Some of us do manage to do a little haunting around town, the week before Halloween. A little advertising never hurts. We hand out flyers at the local stores and gas stations in full costume. We also get to make guest appearances sometimes at, sleep-overs and parties. You should see their faces!
Our haunt has had an interesting history. Each year we add more hideous characters. Our 2002 Haunt turned out better than ever with a larger graveyard, more props, and new spine chilling effects. We are already making bigger plans for our 2003 Haunt. We are looking forward in hopes of scaring the yell out of you!
