Why do I do a Free haunt ?
When I first decided to do our haunt, it was for a small community. I wanted all the kids (and adults) to have a safe and fun time without having to go outside of our community. If I would charge any amount, it would leave out some kids and defeat the purpose of me starting the haunt in the first place. I have had many people ask, why not put a "Donation Box" at the entrance. I don't want anyone to "feel" as if they need to give money. It does cost a lot to upgrade every year and to replace worn out or damaged costumes, not to mention the large amount of candy that we give out on our porch every year. I have been lucky enough to get some sponsorship, and I am hoping for more in the future. I will try to keep the haunt Free as long as I do it.
