Every great haunt needs a spooky graveyard scene, and you can't have a graveyard without tombstones. Tombstones are easy and can be a lot of fun to make. They can be made out of wood, cardboard, or styrofoam. They can be simple or elaborate, depending on your needs. Most of ours are made out of styrofoam and we give them a realistic look by putting cracks and broking spots on them. I use a gray spray paint to color the foam and then mist black around the edges to make it look old. Have fun with the names and sayings you put on the tombstones. Toss out a couple in the yard and you have a instant graveyard, but if you want the most spine chilling scene around, go a few steps more. Get an old rusty iron fence to put around your tombstones. Use blue or red lighting to light up your tombstones, and put creepy crawlies, dead looking trees, bones and props in and around your graveyard. I put moss in my trees and on my fence, for that added touch. Now for that knee-knocking effect, one or two well placed fog machines with fog chillers, and you have the spookiest graveyard in town. click on the pics below to see some examples from our Haunt
